Dickebusch New Military Cemetery, Belgium

 

On 16th March, 1915, A Company of the 4th King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 80 Brigade, 27th Division relieved the Royal Irish Fusiliers in part of the line near Dickebusch near the Mound which was in enemy hands and proceeded to strengthen the position as best as they could. On the following day, 17th March, B Company, moving up from Dickebusch, relieved A Company and continued with the work and it was while supervising this that Eric James was killed.
